If swimming is just not enough ocean fun for you, try some of the many water sports available in Kona.
Kayaking: Fun for young and old alike, kayaking can lead you to unique snorkeling and swimming spots or give you a tour of the coast line at your own pace. Go on a guided trip, or venture out on your own. Single and double seaters available.
Jet Skiing: If speed, power, and sea spray is your thing, then jet skiing is right up your alley.
Parasailing: Want to try something totally different? How about a combo of sailing and parachuting? Sailing up to 500 ft above the water, parasailing is definitely an out of the ordinary experience.
Bodyboarding/Boogie Boarding: Great for riding waves on shore and less cumbersome than surfboards, bodyboards make for great ocean entertainment. Rent boards by day or week from numerous locations in down-town Kona or buy your own at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or Target.
Surfing: Learn the original sport of the Hawaiians, or talk to the guys at the surf shops and check out Big Island's local breaks for yourself. |
